Custom mat switch
4-4.Mat switch accessories
And accessories for fixing the mat switch. When laying a mat switch, refer to the calculation method of safety distance according to EN999 (ISO13855).
1).Aluminum joint construction
It is an accessory for prevention of accident of a mat switch
2).Slope
You can add slope (slope) directly to the rubber material without any joints (optional).
3).Safety distance calculation
The formula given in EN999 for floor mats
S = (1600 × T) + 1200mm
S is the minimum safety distance (unit: mm) coefficient 1600 is set to 1600mm / s standard approach speed,
T is the total stopping time (unit: second), considering 1200mm stride and arm length
The total downtime consists of two parts.
T = t1 + t2
t1: Maximum time until the output power of the control unit is turned off in the detection installation track (35 ms in case of this safety mat)
t2: Response time of the machine. That is, the time required for the machine to stop or remove the hazard after receiving the output of the safety mat system
The response time of the machine used for the calculation should be the worst-case time. Depending on the machine, The response time may vary depending on mode, type of workpiece and stopping point during the cycle.
If you can influence the response time, such as brake wear, you should anticipate these factors as well.
Here is an example of a safety mat with a machine whose worst response time is estimated to be 0.485 seconds.
By the above expression
T = t1 + t2
= 35ms + 485ms
= 520ms = 0.520s
S = (1600 x 0.520) + 1200 mm = 832 + 1200mm = 2032mm Therefore, the safety mats should be laid at a distance of 2032mm from the hazardous circle.
